Upgrade FTICR 9.4T to solariX 7T 2xR with cold head This contract concerns the second stage of a plan to update our exceptional instrumentation, a FT-ICR solariX xR from Bruker (aka 1ω detection) to solariX 2xR (aka 2ω detection), it is to say two cycles of detection by convolution of ion packets in the dynamically harmonized ICR cell, also known as ParaCell. This market includes the upgrade of the electronics for the detection of ions in 2ω mode, and a magnet of second hand compatible with 2ω detection of at least 7T and with reduced liquid helium consumption. The first stage of the upgrade of our FT-ICR included, among other things, updating the detection and signal processing electronics of the ICR via the purchase of the NEO AVANCE console. This NEO console is compatible with 2xR detection via the addition of a dedicated electronic card, which is the subject of this contract. However, 2ω detection requires that the performance of the superconducting magnet, particularly in terms of homogeneity of the magnetic field, meets the requirements of 2ω detection. This therefore requires changing our 9.4T superconducting magnet which currently equips our solariX. This is why a second-hand magnet, of at least 7T, which meets the performance criteria imposed by 2ω detection, is part of the demand for this market.
