Upcoming announcements on litter monitoring In March 2026, three monitoring activities dealing with littering will be advertised: Mapping of littering of the seabed in coastal areas: The task involves mapping the amount and type of littering on the seabed at 13 selected areas along the Norwegian coast using underwater cameras. At each area, the amount and type of litter must be recorded at approx. 150 straight transects with a length of 100 meters and approx. 5 meters wide. Data from photo/video must be reviewed carefully, and all rubbish items must be registered. The assignment extends over a 5-year period, and has a total estimated value of NOK 5, 000, 000 Littering along river banks: The assignment involves field work (spring/autumn) where suitable segments for monitoring littering along Norwegian rivers must be assessed. The assignment takes place in 2026 and has an estimated value of NOK 700, 000 Littering on urban beaches in inner Oslofjord: The assignment involves fieldwork where urban beaches are to be registered for littering.
