The European Union's new Migration and Asylum Agreement (the so-called Pact) will enter into force in the summer of 2026. The Pact brings new obligations for the competent authorities to provide information to applicants for international protection. Customers must get the asylum procedure related customer instructions in a timely manner in a language they can reasonably be expected to understand. This means that the Finnish Immigration Service must provide translations of the necessary customer materials in several different languages. New obligations increase the need for translation volumes at the Immigration Office, and this acquisition complements the Immigration Office's current framework agreement for public documents.
