The Lacs catex was installed in the early 1980s. It includes a departure station with an internal combustion engine assembly, a non-rechargeable battery on site and a force arm to regulate the speed of the cable. The cable is approximately 2 km long is supported by 5 pylons equipped with adjustable deflection pulleys and pole guides to ensure the passage of the clamps supporting the explosive intended for preventive avalanche shots. Around ten shooting points are possible with this device. In its current configuration it is operated by tracker artificers who have mastered this very old mechanism with great care. In fact, the gasoline engine and its exhaust are close to the fireworks and constitute a risk fire, the power station pulleys are very close to the operators, as well as the cable, leading to a proven risk of entanglement. Security is therefore at issue in this configuration from another era. The line of pylons and pulleys is almost original, a few parts replacements in recent years have kept the device functioning to this day. These materials are difficult to adjust and maintain. The existing equipment, at the motor station and online, is therefore obsolete and must be replaced, the original cable must also be replaced. On the other hand, 2 additional firing points must be treated near the current P4 by an extension of the catex
