The object of the contract is the supply of technical telemetry and geocalitzation equipment necessary for the project “Reducing bycatch of threatened megafauna in the East Central Atlantic” (REDUCE) of the University of Barcelona. The REDUCE project is a European project led by the University of Barcelona and aims to use an interdisciplinary scientific approach and unify the efforts of interested parties to reduce accidental captures of marine megafauna by European fleets operating in the western region of the central Atlantic. The project is structured in 9 different work packages. For the correct development of the project, the acquisition of technical equipment is essential. specialized. Specifically, the project requires the acquisition of a wide range of monitoring devices for both boats and seabirds. They include GPS of various sizes and weights, some with accelerometers, radar or AIS receiver to capture interactions with ships, as well as models with solar power or 4G or satellite transmission that allow real-time or long-term tracking.
