REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE SUPPLY OF LABORATORY ITEMS AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

Details:

CARPHA and the European Union (EU) recently concluded an Agreement for the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Programme of Support for Health Security Strengthening for Prevention and Control of Outbreaks of Communicable Diseases in the Caribbean. The four-year Project is aimed at strengthening health security in the region and is valued at €8 million of which approximately €5 million will be used to support a direct response to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Caribbean.

The Project will be used to support Caribbean countries to respond to COVID-19. More specifically, resources under the Project will be used to, among other things:

· Procure vaccines and/or other treatment for COVID-19

· Procure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

· Procure equipment for CARPHA-s Laboratory and CARPHA Member States (CMS) to support testing for COVID-19 and other Communicable Diseases

· Procure diagnostic test kits, reagents and consumables for diagnostic testing for COVID-19 and other Communicable Diseases

· Consultancy to support the management and implementation of quarantine and isolation procedures in CMS and of contact tracing for COVID-19 - capacity-building, training

· Consultancy to support and promote the use of COVID-19 Guidelines and Protocols among public health professionals in CMS through capacity-building and training

· Consultancy to support the deployment of CARPHA rapid response teams to CMS

· Consultancy to develop two new modules of the Caribbean Regional (CR) Field Epidemiology Laboratory Training Programme (FELTP) - (i) a virtual infectious disease simulation exercise which health practitioners can utilize to train in the principles of outbreak investigation; (ii) course for medical practitioners who are on the frontline of dealing with patients

(iii) Provide Information of having executed at least three (3) contracts/assignments for laboratory items and/or the supply of PPE-s above €50, 000 in the past three (3) years. (Section 4 of Expression of Interest below - Annex 1 Form)

(iv) A brief financial summary that the firm has the financial resources and management strength to execute contracts similar in details to point (iii) above, and that the firm can provide evidence of such capacity. (Section 5 below- Annex 1 Form)
