The general food security situation of the region continues to deteriorate due to poor performance/failure of four consecutive rains which has resulted in shortage of pasture and water, crop failure and loss of livestock. Term of Trade (TOT) for pastoralists remain to be negative, which continues to worsen the food access through markets food prices remain above the reach of most pastoral households whose animals have very low market value due to poor body conditions.
In response to the crisis Oxfam plan feed distribution for total of 400Hhs pastoralist communities, key strategy and Livelihood objective of supplementary feeding intervention- provision of survival feeding (only to stabilize live wight) for core breeding livestock species (sheep & goat and cattle) to protect and safeguard key livestock assets or livelihoods of most vulnerable households affected by droughts in Jarar zone Somali region.
Oxfam is issuing this Invitation to Tender for support of the humanitarian response in the Somali Region, Oxfam is seeking a reliable, capable supplier(s) and encourages all legitimate suppliers to participate in this tender for the Supply of Feed supplement, Cattle. “Feed supplement, Cattle Multi- Nutrient Block.”
