Tenders are invited for Supply & Delivery of 50 Covered Baggage Trollies for Use within Bandaranaike International Airport
Platform size
a) Length : 2800 ± 100 mm

b) width : 1600 ± 100 mm
2. Trolley height from upper edge of deck to roof : 1400 ± 100 mm *
3. Height of upper edge of deck from the floor should be below 600 mm *

Dropdown doors- Fold down/foldup doors both sides for loading and unloading from
both sides
a) Centre opening from the trailer bed up to the roof height is required on both
sides for easy loading and unloading. The width of the centre opening should
be 1500± 100mm.

b) The loading unloading opening should consist with one dropdown door to
cover the lower part and cover upper part of the opening by a drop-down
canvas cloth for both sides. The height of the dropdown door should be
400mm ± 50mm. Canvas cover should consist with locking device/strips for
waterproof / inside the trolley should be protected from rainwater.

Brakes: Shoe operated manual parking brakes should be engaged in the tow bar in
upright position and towbar touching the ground.
Brake should be released on tow bar in horizontal position.
8. Trolley front & back canopy should be covered with a galvanised steel sheet of
thickness not less than 1.5mm.

9. Should be in compliance with AHM 910, 913, and 916.
10. Should be incompliance with AHM 963 *
11. Trolley equipped with 4 Tyres. *
12. Tyre size 400x8 non pneumatic (solid) *
13. Hard rubber wheel should be strong enough to withstand the weight.

Floorboard should be made from chequered metal plates, with slopes (centre of the
floorboard should be deep enough to drain rainwater)
15. Complete body should be hot dipped galvanized to prevent corrosion.

Rear coupling should be equipped with heavy duty “E” type with a captive springloaded pin that can be retained in open position and capable of towing up to 3 trailers

Towing bar weight should not exceed 15-20 kg, enabling manual handling by a single
person.

18. Colour: 4 radius corners and tow bar yellow. *

For top edges should be fitted with ‘T- or “L” shaped rubber bumpers of approximately
8 inches long on either side on all top corners.
