Tenders are invited for Sr. Business Development Adviser, Asia (Consultancy).

In Asia, ChildFund is operating in four countries namely Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Sri Lanka. Its programs range from nutrition, safe motherhood and child survival, water and sanitation, early childhood development, food security, education, child labor, adolescent reproductive health, youth employment, among others. Child protection and disaster risk reduction are mainstreamed in these programs whenever possible.
Position Overview:
ChildFund strives to create an environment that is conducive to external funding pursuit in Asia by providing quality support to the countries in Asia. Aspiring to establish a strong foundation for Business Development and Grant Acquisition in Asia the organization is looking forward to hiring a Sr. Business Development Adviser (SBDA), with relevant and vast experience working with institutional donors and grant acquisition in Asia. The Sr. Business Development Adviser (SBDA) will work collaboratively with country and reginal teams engaged in research, program design and proposal development. SBDA is charged with providing leadership to diverse international/ regional proposal bid teams which includes: pulling together bid materials (proposals, presentations and concept notes), design and lead on proposal development workshops to design and validate consortia/bid team inputs, provide high quality proposal review to other proposals and support capacity building and training of country office teams and local partners on proposal development. The person is also expected to lead of key strategic relationships with institutional donors and other partnerships in the Region. The role supports different geographic and thematic areas of work and requires frequent travel.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Gather and consolidate intelligence on funding opportunities in Asia and support the Business Development team strategy, planning and external relations activities
· Provides strategic leadership for the region in identifying and analyzing donor calls for funding applications, expressions of interest and request for proposals from the public and private sector.
· Research new funding opportunities and donor priorities, consolidate information on donors and advise on new funding opportunities.
· Work with country teams to transform their initial ideas into clear concepts that may lead to successful grants or contracts. As specialist supports the writing/development of concept papers and proposals to respond to specific solicited and unsolicited funding opportunities of under $1m grants for the assigned countries.
· As technical specialist reviews and assesses all proposals from country teams and build their capacity by way of training, mentoring or coaching.
• Work with CO/IO GAM team to negotiate teaming agreement with other INGOs/Alliance Members.
· Ensure compliance with donor regulations and cost recovery is taken into consideration. Follow up submissions of proposals with effective liaison with donors, as permitted, and ensure that donor questions and concerns are fully addressed on time.
· Provides technical insights in supporting teams in decision making (go/ no go decisions)
· Lead the proposal team in the brainstorming of responsive yet innovative programmatic design concepts, and ensure they are meaningfully translated into written content.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
· At least 10 years of work experience accessing funding through developing proposals and reports for a variety of donors including US, UK, and Australian governments.
· Established networks and relationships with key institutional donors (USG Donors, EU, DOL, DFID etc.) relevant to the Children-s.
· Experience of strategizing and developing donor relationships.
· Considerable experience of preparing and presenting reports and presentations for a range of audiences.
· Experience of identifying and building relationships with donors.
· Experience of cross-team and long distance working.
· Excellent project management skills to handle tasks and deadlines efficiently and effectively.
· Excellent donor research skills e.g. using directories, internet, networking and journals.
· Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
· Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions
· Fully proficient computer skills in standard software applications.
· Ability to effectively communicate with and coordinate activities of multiple partners, including field-based staff.
· Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, negotiation, and verbal communications.
