Tender Details

Object of these works: Schoolstraat 28 Soil remediation project for municipal parking behind town hall. Explanation: Soil remediation works consist of excavation with drainage and groundwater purification. The soil remediation project relates to historical (petrol) contamination with mineralsle oil and volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, naphthalene) in the solid part of the earth and in groundwater. According to a previously conducted soil survey on the site, the contamination involved is (presumably) related to the filling of an underground tank(T1 or T2) with petrol and/or the use of a distribution pump. Tanks T1 and T2 and the distribution pump are no longer present. The remediation of the (gasoline) contamination involved will consist of excavation with drainage and groundwater purification. Place of execution: Parking behind the town hall, pupublicly accessible, cadastrally known as Berlaar, 1st department, section D, plot number 40D3. The works are carried out in accordance with the "soil remediation project - Schoolstraat 28 - drawn up by GCM-A dated. 20/12/2023 (file 96825). Lot 1/D/40D3 (source perplot to be remediated with works): The remediation of the (petrol) contamination involved will consist of excavation with drainage and groundwater purification. Given the absence of buildings, excavation can take place under a safe slope (45). The excavation will take place after the groundwater has slowly drainedam (for about 4 weeks) was lowered to below the excavation level. The contamination is located in the solid part of the earth over an area of 201 m2. At 67 m2 of this 201 m2, excavation must be carried out to a depth of 4.0 to 4.5 m. The contamination is within this 67 m2 aapresent from (worst-case) 0.4 m below. The remaining 134 m2 (201 m2 67 m2) must be excavated to a depth of 3.0 m below ground level. Within this 134 m2, the contamination is present from (worst-case) 1.0 m below ground level. After excavation, the excavation zone will be replenished and finished. The remediation lasts until Thursdayel to achieve the proposed remediation values. These values are shown in table 15 of the soil remediation project in the appendix. The drainage water must be purified before it can be discharged. The discharge takes place into the mixed sewerage of the Schoolstraat. Next to the parameterDepending on the contamination to be remediated, the drainage water must be additionally monitored for arsenic, nickel and PFAS. The remediation will lead to the complete removal of the contamination in the solid part of the earth. There may still be limited residual concentrates in the groundwateries ( soil remediation standard) of mineral oil and/or volatile aromatics remain present. the groundwater will then be monitored for another year by means of groundwater monitoring. the total remediation period is estimated at about 6 weeks. if after 6 weeks in the drainage water neven if (limited) elevated concentrations are present in the groundwater, the drainage system can optionally be kept in operation for 1 to 2 weeks longer. the groundwater will then be monitored for another year by means of groundwater monitoring. during this phase (about 6 weeks) the plot can be cultivatedare more accessible, but the parking lot will remain open. during the day there may be noise, dust and traffic disruption. after the remediation works there may remain, cf. batneec, non-removable residual contamination present on the site for the groundwater.
