THE SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIAL ZONES FUND (FONZID)
Call for project proposals

On March 1st, 2019, Millennium Challenge Account-Morocco (MCA-Morocco) and the Government of Morocco’s Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy (MIITDE) launched FONZID (Fonds des Zones Industrielles Durables, ) a facility for sustainable industrial zones.
FONZID is a $30 million grant facility co-funded by MIITDE and MCA-Morocco, as part of the second compact between the United States, through Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and the Kingdom of Morocco. The grant facility aims to support projects that improve governance, productivity and sustainability of existing and new industrial zones. To achieve this goal :
- Governance is defined as better management, maintenance and operations of an industrial zone;
- Sustainable zone is defined as a zone with good economic, environmental and social performance.

This fund targets two categories of entities:
- Moroccan public entities which develop and manage industrial land projects, including public institutions and companies, regional councils, municipalities, provinces and prefecture authorities, public planners-developers of industrial areas, chambers of industry, commerce and services.
- Private entities, including groups of industries, associations or managers of industrial areas, private planners and developers of industrial areas and suchlike private organization or corporate investing in the development and management of industrial areas.

The projects selection process includes two main steps:
- Eligibility assessment;
- Evaluation and selection of the projects deemed eligible for funding.

Interested candidates should create an account and register online on www.fonzid.ma.
Once registered, the candidates should complete the preliminary eligibility verification form available through their account. Once eligibility is confirmed, applicants will have access to complete the full application through their account on the site.
Final applications must be submitted no later than July 1st, 2019 at midnight (CET, local time in Morocco).
