Agriculture is the sector that employs the most people in Haiti, with 40% of households engaged in agricultural activity and about 75% of rural households engaged in some form of agriculture such as fishing or beekeeping. Only one-third farms in Haiti are managed by women, while women represent 44.2% of the workforce.e agricultural.
