Tenders are invited for Quantity Surveyor for the Technology Innovation Complex and Ideas Market.
This Request for Tender is for a Quantity Surveyor commission to provide services to the Technology Innovation Complex including the Ideas Market and new car parking. The QS commission will be directly with JCU for the duration of the works. The 10, 000m2 building is expected to be delivered under a Lump Sum Traditional Contract. Practical Completion for the Works is planned for October 2021 although could extend to early 2022. This commission will extend one month pass practical completion. Construction, building pad and new car parking is anticipated to commence in March 2020. Early works including the relocation of existing infrastructure (chilled water, HV and Comms) from the site is planned to commence in 2019.
The TIC is a $90m Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and innovation focused investment for regional North Queensland to perform and innovate at a national and international level and actively contribute to the transformation and growth of the North Queensland economy. It is an approximate 10, 000m² ‘Studio- where research and industry collaboration, innovation and research supports local business - specifically STEM, big data and analytics, information technology and technology transformation.
The project will be funded by a loan from NAIF via the Queensland Treasury so Federal and Queensland Government conditions will apply including the AIP and IES attached. Further conditions from NAIF and QT will be confirmed before signing of Consultancy Agreement. This QS commission will provide QS services for the funding amount of $90m which will include the Early Works, Technology Innovation Complex including the Ideas Market and associated car parking and civil works.
