Expression of Interest are invited for Provision of Psychometric Credit Scoring Services and Related Data for a Study on Financing Women-Owned Msmes in Ethiopia
The World Bank now seeks the services of a suitably qualified firm to lend technical support in the implementation of the proposed scale-up. The contracted firm will work with GIL to select at least two financial institutions in the WEDP network and support them in setting up, calibrating, and deploying a psychometric credit scoring platform. The firm will also support GIL research on the effectiveness and efficiency of psychometric credit scoring in the context of small business loans in Ethiopia, especially for female clients. Technological solutions that work well in a low-tech environment, where electricity provision and mobile connectivity may be limited, are especially relevant for this project.
Assignment
The firm will support at least two of WEDPs participating financial institutions in introducing a psychometric credit scoring system and work with GIL to collect relevant data. The firms main responsibilities will include:
Support IFWE in the selection of participating financial institutions;
Localize existing psychometric technology or design tailored solution for the Ethiopian MSME market;
Calibrate the model for use in the local context;
Train relevant MFI staff on rolling out the system, carrying out tests and interpreting results;
Provide a sufficient number of tests and results during the pilot period.
The firm will be expected to provide regular reports to the GIL team throughout the project period. The bulk of the assignment is expected to take place between Q3 of 2022 and Q4 of 2024.
