Expression of Interest are invited for Provide Analytical and Advisory Support for Sustainable Management of Forests

The consultant-s tasks under the present assignment will include:

Identification of prospective areas for the inclusion to the State Forest in the capacity of municipal forests
In Sagarejo, Gurjaani, Sighnagi, and Lagodekhi, municipalities of Kakheti administrative region and Mtskheta and Dusheti municipalities of Mtskheta-Mtianeti administrative region, identify territories with forest vegetation meeting criteria of “forest” as defined in the Law of Georgia on the Forest Code of Georgia 2020 (last amended 2022) but do not fall within the boundaries of the State Forest Fund as defined in the Resolution of the Government of Georgia No 299, dated August 4, 2011, on Establishing Boundaries of the State Forest Fund. Areas in the private ownership should not be considered.

The consultant-s team should have:
- Extensive experience in the field of forest management
- Full understanding of Georgia-s forest legislation and regulations
- Solid technical skills in forest taxation, the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and mapping
- Experience in planning and delivering training on forest and biodiversity management
- Individual members of the consultant-s team should have at least 10 years working experience in forest management planning and administration, including field work; excellent command of spoken and written Georgian and English languages; and inter-personal skills

15. The Consultant will report to the Task Team Leader. All written reports and other outputs of the consultant shall be sent electronically. All outputs will be produced in Georgian and English languages
