kelowna general hospital is replacing the outdated extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ("ecmo") systems that has reached end of life. The maquet system is currently the only ecls system approved in canada for flight transport and will standardize kgh to what royal columbian, vancouver general, and bc children`s hospitals are using. This standardization is critical to consistent patient care, which minimizes risk of patient error.
