Objectives
The primary objective of this project is to develop a scalable, user-friendly, and mobile-first LMS that meets the following goals:
Accessibility: Deliver a platform accessible via mobile and Web-Based interfaces, optimized for low-bandwidth environments to ensure broad reach across Ethiopia.
Engagement: Provide intuitive user-side features, including course enrollment, progress tracking, and interactive assessments, to enhance learner motivation and course completion.
Efficiency: Build a comprehensive Administrative Component to streamline course management, learner oversight, and performance analytics for administrators.
Skill Development: Support high-quality, student-focused learning through multimedia course content, assessments, and certificate generation tailored to career development needs.
Scalability: Ensure the system is built with modern technologies to handle a growing user base and support future expansions.
4. Scope of Work
The selected organization will develop the LMS, incorporating the following components with detailed functionalities:
Web-Based mobile friendly LMS (User-Side Features:
Profile Creation and Management: Build a streamlined profile creation process capturing educational background, skills, certifications, career goals, and preferences. Develop a user-friendly homepage displaying progress metrics, including enrolled courses, completed courses, certificates earned, a profile summary, and algorithm-driven course recommendations based on user data and learning history.
Course Enrollment and Access: Implement a course filtering system allowing users to search by level (beginner, intermediate, advanced), duration, category (e.g., business, technology, health), and delivery mode (online, hybrid). Ensure courses are self-paced with detailed tabs for course summary (enrollments, fees, reviews, ratings), content (structure, duration, lessons), and resources (e.g., PDFs, links, videos). Include “Saved Courses” and “Enrolled Courses” tabs for quick access.
Learning Progress Tracking: Develop a real-time tracking system with a user dashboard displaying metrics such as course completion rates, quiz results, time spent, and engagement levels. Use visual indicators like progress bars, completion percentages, and milestone badges to provide clear feedback on learner achievements.
Assessment and Feedback: Create a robust assessment system supporting multiple levels (quick quizzes, chapter tests, final exams) with automated scoring and instant feedback, including detailed explanations for correct and incorrect answers. Allow configurable retry limits for quizzes (e.g., 3 attempts per quiz) to reinforce learning, particularly for career-relevant skills.
Flashcards: Develop an interactive flashcard tool for reviewing key course concepts, featuring summarized question-answer pairs (e.g., “Define a Geometric Sequence” with the answer on the reverse). Ensure flashcards are integrated into courses, support randomization, and allow users to track review progress.
