Tender Details

Brewing is the process by which beer is produced, generally using cereal grain. Winemaking is the process by which the juice from grapes are fermented and matured to produce wine. Distilling is the process by which whiskey, brandy or other spirits are produced from some form of fermented product (ie. From beer or wine). The brewing and distilling industry in ireland is growing rapidly and includes: a growing irish beer sector employing 2, 000 people and supporting thousands of farming families direct employment in distilling to grow by 30% by 2025 massive growth in microbreweries with 100 expected by 2025 plans to invest 1 billion in the whiskey industry and to grow market share by 300% 28 distilleries now operating or being developed on the island of ireland. Successful brewing and distilling requires the application of both scientific and engineering principles. This four year course, the first undergraduate brewing and distilling degree in ireland, equips students with the necessary scientific knowledge and instrumentation competencies to work in the brewing and distilling industry. We currently do not have a system for measuring basic fundamental parameters in beer, spirits or wines. Fundamental parameters for these products are gravity, %alcohol & gas analysis. Teaching students how to carry out these analysis is a core part of the brewing & distilling syllabus. From a brewers / distillers perspective, it is very important to be able to measure these parameters and know the principles behind the analysis - 'what you cannot measure you cannot manage'. Lot 1 - laboratory density meter & sampler lot 2 - alcolyzer lot 3 - gas analysis package
