About the Project:

Empowering women and strengthening the resilience of vulnerable rural and urban communities in South Lebanon and Beirut is a three-year program implemented by a consortium of 3 NGOs, Justice without Frontiers, SHEILD, and JAFRA, led by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by the German Feder Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This program aims to strengthen women's livelihoods and increase the resilience of vulnerable communities engaged in smallholder and subsistence agriculture. Justice without Frontiers- role in this program is to ensure that gender equality is mainstreamed into all project activities, provide tailored training for women in leadership skills and business development, provide legal support, and conduct gender analysis.

Target Group of the program:

The target group of the program is Lebanese, Syrian refugees, and Palestinians including (1) smallholder farmers in the Lebanese community, while in the Palestinian camps, it targets homeowners with space to plant roof gardens, vulnerable women involved in food processing, and vulnerable households who can benefit from food parcel distribution. (2) women-owned MSMEs, women-led cooperatives, and start-ups that are also women-owned. (3) members of the Lebanese host communities and Syrian refugees to ensure the success of the social stability interventions.

Time Schedule:

In terms of reference for lawyer, the schedule is structured per session for the preparation of legal booklets.

Scope of work and deliverables:

The Lawyer is expected to provide the following deliverables:
• Research the relevant laws, regulations, and rights applicable in agriculture to beneficiaries in South Lebanon and Palestinian camps.
• Develop comprehensive legal booklets that are tailored to the specific needs of the beneficiaries and are presented in a clear and easy-to-understand format.
• Provide legal guidance and support to beneficiaries: Answering legal questions, clarifying rights and responsibilities, and assisting with legal processes.
