Tenders are invited for Last Mile Electricity Asset Consultant

Task 1: Documentation of the status of current RES assets, ownership and challenges: The task involves a report on the current status of RES assets/business, description of the locations of the RES assets relative to the KPLC assets, funding arrangements for O&M for RES and method used to ascertain O&M costs. The report will be based on desk review of reports and discussions with KPLC, REREC, MOEP and the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).

Output:

(i) Written report on the current status of the RES assets and O&M funding arrangements

Expected delivery: 4 weeks from the start of assignment

Task 2: Preparation of global case studies on the prevailing public sector investment and implementation modalities, and ownership structures, for last mile assets. The first task involves the preparation of 6-8 country case studies from countries that are recognized for the success in their addressing similar challenges as Kenya in their electrification asset ownership during the past 10-20 years and which can serve as realistic models for Kenya. The case studies should specifically highlight the roles of different public sector (and private) entities in last mile asset O&M and ownership.
