Project Description : A number of City of London Police contracts for digital video equipment and digital evidence management systems are reaching end dates between late 2025 and 2026. The Force is investigating the potential of undertaking an integrated procurement which encompasses In-Car Audio Video, Digital Interview Recording System, Body Worn Video, solutions and the implementation of a Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) / Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) solution. This will aid in the management of evidence and the investigation of cases and will allow us to share data digitally with our criminal justice partners in the wider criminal justice process in a secure manner.
The City of London Police currently uses separate solutions to store and access digital
evidence and assets related to cases and organisational improvements. A number of
DEMS/Video Management Systems (VMS) are in use by the City of London Police (e.g.
CCTV, Body Worn Video, Digital Interview Recording System). However there remains a
reliance on manual hard copy transfer of digital evidence in some areas of the Force e.g.
DVDs, data sticks and storage on the IT network.
