Inland shipping Special shipping The armed forces' organizational units are in need of civilian actors for maritime transport within archipelago and inland shipping to be able to transport to and from various areas and islands along Sweden's coast, lakes and canals when own capacity is not enough. The need arises, for example, in connection with daily operations in the form of training and maintenance of various military systems and more, as well as during exercises and operations when the units' own resources are not sufficient. The need is nationally but can be divided regionally and includes Sweden's entire coastline, lakes and canals. What is to be transported can be both military and civilian personnel as well as material. In addition to this, there is also a need for special shipping in connection with specific missions, such as for example salvage, cable laying vessels and ice breaking.
