This is an urgent requirement and a bespoke tender process, which will be run under Article 74 of EU Directive 2014/24/EU (Annex XIV Services Formerly Annex II B). This process may entail a number of stages in order to advance to award of contract. The HSE on behalf of the Regional Executive Office, Mid West, under the scope of the Urgent and Emergency Care Integrated Capacity Plan for HSE Mid West are seeking a Managed Service arrangement for up to 50 Community Rehabilitation Beds at a Community Rehabilitation Unit in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. Recognising the need to deliver additional rehabilitation capacity in the Mid West a number of procurement processes are underway to deliver a model of care that allows for adults with a rehabilitation need to access community rehabilitation beds locally, whether they are in an acute hospital or residing in the community. The model of care for Level 2 rehabilitation beds delivered as part of this plan is specialist Consultant led supported by a skilled interdisciplinary team, with clinical governance from a Rehabilitation Medicine or a Geriatric Medicine Consultant. Patients with moderate complexity, moderate intensity rehabilitation needs who may also have ongoing medical needs such as IV antibiotics, wound care, catheter care etc, can be cared for within this model. It is anticipated the service will be predominantly, but not exclusively, focused on older adult requirements. These beds aim to cater to individual care needs, irrespective of the source of illness or injury. This patient-centred approach emphasises tailoring treatment according to the specific requirements and rehabilitation goals of each individual, acknowledging the diverse spectrum of conditions and complexities that may arise.
