Tender Details

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (the department) forfeited the Island Tourism Lease from GKI Resorts Pty Ltd. Subsequently the department became the Trustee for 16 land parcels on Great Keppel Island (GKI). Two of the land parcels relate to marine areas i.e., proposed marina site adjacent to Putney Beach, and an underwater observatory in waters to the south of Middle Island. Further land parcels have the buildings and infrastructure that form the now dilapidated resort facility. The objective of this project is to engage a Principal Contractor (PC), under a building construction contract basis to undertake make safe works of the GKI site. The PC will be responsible for, manage and supervise works identified by and on behalf of the department for the remediation works.
