Tender Details

The Flux building on the TU/e ​​campus (completed in 2014) has a second skin facade of approximately 9, 700 m². In 2024 it was determined that rubbers of the outer glass profile were coming loose and some glass panels had sagged, causing a high risk of glass failure. The building (29, 630 m² gross floor area, 10 floors, approx. 41 m high) has an educational and office function with several labs. Research by third parties and an external consultancy led to a recovery report and technical description. Because the facade construction does not is demonstrably safe, TU/e ​​carries out periodic inspections, places fuses on glass plates and uses drones for point cloud measurements. Ultimately, the entire second skin facade will have to be replaced.
