Description : The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Bureau of Geologic Survey (BGS) has been performing geologic carbon sequestration research in Pennsylvania and neighboring states since 2003. The Midwest Regional Carbon Initiative (MRCI) Project is an U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)-funded effort for which Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle) has subcontracted with multiple states, including Pennsylvania, to provide ongoing carbon storage research support and to facilitate the deployment of carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) throughout the Appalachian Basin, as well as the larger Midwest to Northeastern regions of the U.S. This new effort serves as a follow-on project to the Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership (MRCSP), for which BGS had served as a long-time research contributor (2003-2019).BGS is seeking a qualified contractor to perform data entry, data mining, digital mapping, and assessment work to support Task 3 of the MRCI Project, which involves aggregating existing data and assessing it for further analysis, determining gaps in data and analyses, facilitating data sharing with project collaborators, and supporting the Project team-s assessment of machine learning techniques for advan...
