Country: The People`s Republic of Bangladesh Name of the Project: Rural Access Road Improvement Project in Sylhet Division Sector: Rural Development & Implementation GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICEMode of Financing: Islamic Development Bank and Government of Bangladesh Financing No. : BD-0173, BD-0174 & BD-0175 The Government of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh has received financing in the amount of US$ 30.00 million equivalent from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of the Rural Access Road Improvement Project in Sylhet Division, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Bangladesh by way of counterpart funding to the tune of US$ 6.80 million, to give a total project cost of US$ 36.80 million. The project comprises of the following five components: (i) Rural Infrastructure; (ii) Construction and Maintenance Equipment; (iii) Design and Supervision Consultants; (iv) Strengthening of Market Management Committee and Marketing Group Development; and (v) Support to PMU. The details of the procurement procedures for various goods, works and services shall be as follows: Goods and Works: I) Civil works: Construction of 83 km of Union Road by BC, 171 km of Village Road by BC, 20km of Submersible Road, 240 m Structure of Union Road, 400 m Structure of Village Road, 285 km Earthen Road, 190 km of Road and Rehabilitation and 38 nos. Market. All these civil works will be procured through National Competitive Bidding (NCB). II) Engineering Equipment: This include 8 Nos. Road Roller. It will be procured through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) III) Furniture, Equipment and Vehicle: This involves provision of furniture (chairs, tables, almirah, file cabinet, Computer, fax machine, Spiral machine, photo-copier, Air cooler etc.) and 37 nos. of motor cycle, these items will be procured through Direct Shopping.
