The city of Raahe acquires a forest information system for the management of its forest assets and the maintenance of forest plans as a SaaS service (Software as a Service). valid for an indefinite period, with a notice period of six (6) months from both sides. The city has forest assets in an area of approx. 7, 000 hectares and currently the forest plan is updated with information received from forest management partners and terrain inventories. With the help of an up-to-date forest plan and map data, the city monitors the development of forests, plans and directs maintenance work, and prepares the necessary reporting for stakeholders. The forest information system must have comprehensive search and filtering capabilities, and support the management of thousands of patterns. The system must also be able to make spatial data observations of line, point, and area-like vector levels, in which case considerations that guide the management of the forest can be stored as spatial data. The forest information system is used in the field for forest planning and construction site planning, so it must work effectively in the field with mobile devices.
