WHO Papua New Guinea (PNG), in collaboration with the National Department of Health (NDoH) is seeking a qualified, eligible and competent proposer for Field Implementation for Papua New Guinea National STEPS Survey 2026.Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) remain one of the leading causes of premature illnesses and death in PNG. The last nationally representative NCD survey using the WHO STEPwise Approach to NCD Risk Factor surveillance (STEPS) methodology, was conducted in 2007-08, and updated data are needed to guide national policies, planning, programme implementation, and monitoring of the country-s response to NCDs.The 2026 PNG National STEPS survey will generate nationally representative estimates of behavioural, physical, and biochemical risk factors among adults aged 18-69 years using the standardized WHO STEPS methodology. We seek to identify an implementing agency with demonstrated technical expertise and previous experience in implementing other large-scale population surveys to support fieldwork implementation at the national level.
