The content of this study is the presentation of the Current status and, based on this, the development of variants for the renaturation of various sections of the Lower Schwechat, the stretch from the crossing of the A4 eastern motorway to the mouth of the Danube. The content of this study is, on the one hand, Representation of the current status and, based on this, the development of variants for the renaturation of various sections of the Lower Schwechat, the route from the crossing of the A4 eastern motorway to the mouth of the Danube. In doing so, based on the Structure of water development concepts, an ecological model typical for water bodies was created. This includes the representation of the ideal or reference state as well as the deficits. Interdisciplinary formulated goals serve as the basis for developing Renaturation variants for individual sections of water.
