ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION

Given the potential of tourism to Myanmar, supporting the country to leverage the tourism sector for economic growth is a top priority for the IFC.
The Myanmar Tourism Project (MTP), in partnership with the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism (MOHT), is supporting to increase sector competitiveness and sustainability. The project provides two levels of support: national level support and destination level support for the Tanintharyi (TNI) Region where the MTP are assisting the regional government in ensuring sustainable utilization of the tourism potential by developing an appropriate regional tourism development strategy, and regulatory framework to optimize tourism investments and growth. As part of this support, the IFC are seeking an international firm to conduct an Environmental and Social Diagnostic Study (ESDS) to assist in creating markets for the tourism sector in Myanmars Tanintharyi Region.
