b) the following questions & answers form part of this itq:
question 1. Will the customer allow an approximate width of 30` or 40` to allow a standard building to be used? which is preferred?
answer: the interior floor nominal area = 256.00 sqm. (2754 sqft) needs to be maintained. The requested width was 34` out to out as per the approved suppliers, operationally the 30`width is too tight for forklift movement. The proposed 40` width is acceptable, however the minimum floor area requirement must be maintained and that 65` is the minimum acceptable length.
question 2. Will the customer allow a variation to the 24` 1" exterior peak height? if so, what variance will be allowed (higher and lower)?
answer: the minimum building height at peak of 7.34 m (24.00`) must be maintained. Providing a higher peak height if necessary to accommodate your structural design is acceptable. However, the proposed building must comply with all zoning bylaws and constructed in accordance with the bc building code to the satisfaction of regional building inspector having jurisdiction.
question 3. The specifications provided appear to be those of a specific building manufacturer (or a collection of several manufactures) in many cases unique to their own product line(s). Can one of the approved manufacturers propose a building designed to its own specifications rather than those of another manufacturer?
answer: the manufacturers can propose an alternative structural building designed to their specifications. The successful supplier must provide professional certification that their product meets or exceeds the basic building requirements specified.
