The objective of the TA is to support the GoE balance the twinchallenges of maintaining Egypt-s BE prosperity (notably ecotourism) while atthe same time sustainably managing the coastal and marine environment, notablyprotected and pristine areas, in conjunction with human-made pressures andaccidents, natural disaster risks and climate change effects. As part of this TA, the World Bank is seeking to hire a Consulting Firm(“Consultant”) to support the preparation of a BE diagnostic for Egypt (componenti) and contribute to the development of a Blue Economy Strategy for Egypt withrelated action plans (component iii). The assignment will cover theentire coastal and marine areas on the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Seaincluding the designated protected, touristic (resorts, hotels, ecolodges, etc.) and other pristine areas. Annex 1 provides further details onbibliographical references. This assignment covers Component (i) and Component (iii) only of the TA.A separate selection will take place to hire a Consultant for component (ii)based on distinct TOR. The Consultant selected for this assignmentwill have to liaise and coordinate the work with the Consultant that will beselected to implement Component (ii).
