background:
the deputy high commission of canada to nigeria in lagos is located at 4 anifowoshe street, victoria island, lagos, nigeria. The building has 3 storey: ground, 1st and 2nd floors. The roof is a shallow pitch metal profile sheets. There was an original radio antenna mast located on the external ground, but it was removed due to the metal deteriorating. Since its removal a taller residential building has been constructed overshadowing this location, so it may no longer be suitable as the location for new antenna mast. There is a lift overrun structure on the main roof which holds an existing dish and monopole radio antenna, however, this signal could be improved with a new mast location and antenna equipment.
Expected outcome:
design and install turnkey solution to improve the current radio communication as described above. The proposal is to install a new radio mast and antenna system to maintain signal to communicate beyond ikoyi, nigeria and onto the murtala muhammed international airport, taking into consideration other surrounding buildings.
