Tender are invited for 600 ea, shield, corona for armor rod end shall be designed specifically for the use of 1590 kcmil falcon acsr conductor with a radius of 1. 545". One complete unit shall consists of 2 sphere halves and will treat one end of a set armor rods. Used to protect armor rods from breaking to corona at voltages of 500 kv. Made of aluminum alloy a360 or a356 material. Has a weight of 0. 93 lbs. Per unit and material strength of 34, 000 psi. Shall be free from flaws, scale inclusions, burrs, or other defects. Each item shall be clearly die-stamped with the department`s part number as follows : c21b. A corona/riv test shall be required and performed at one of the contractor`s facilities, with one or two witnesses from the department present (see attached test plan).
