The Provision of Visual Display Unit (VDU) and Safety Prescription Eyecare Services

Network Rail requires VDU and Safety Eye ware 1 stop service for its employees. The purpose of this service is to provide eligible Network Rail employees with VDU user glasses and eye tests in accordance with Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 and safety glasses and eye tests in accordance with European Standards and Markings for eye and Face Protection EN166:2001 which is compliant with the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 (as amended).

The purpose of this service is to provide eligible network rail employees with VDU user glasses and eye tests in accordance with Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 and safety glasses and eye tests in accordance with European Standards and Markings for eye and Face Protection EN166:2001 which is compliant with the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 (as amended).

1.2) The supplier will provide eyecare vouchers to employees (free of charge) for redemption throughout England, Scotland, and Wales and administer the process of arranging eye examination, re-examinations, tracking and monitoring each employee's status and progress as well as supplying prescription VDU only or safety eyewear as single vision, bifocal or varifocals;

1.3) The safety eyecare shall be provided by the supplier in accordance with the Network Rail's PPE standard NR/L2/OHS/021 [Issue: 3] Personal protective equipment and workwear (PPE);

1.4) The supplier shall provide network rail employees with various lines of communication such as a telephone helpline, website, and a smart phone app or in person at the suppliers' location;

1.5) The supplier shall keep network rail updated on legislation and product changes where possible.
