Operation of a duty-free shop for persons enjoying diplomatic status in Switzerland

A duty-free shop in Geneva has been requested by the World Trade Organization (WTO) in negotiations on a headquarters agreement. The possibility of opening such a store has been decidede in a decision of the Federal Council dated 13 and 22.6.1994. Under the Customs Act, AFD launches a call for tenders for the granting of a license to operate.

A Duty Free Store in Geneva has been requested by the Organization World Trade Organization (WTO) in the negotiations for a headquarters agreement. The possibility of opening such a shop haswas decided in a decree of the Federal Council dated 13 and 22.6.1994. Under the Customs Act, AFD launches a call for tenders for the granting of an operating license.

A duty-free shop is a store that is authorized to sell foreign goods (duty-free). free) and Swiss goods (duty-paid) to diplomats. In terms of supply, it offers ae alternative to catalog ordering systems or direct import. The duty-free shop sells mainly consumer goods packaged for retail sale. These articles must cover the personal needs of the beneficiaries.

CAp9 The tenderer confirms that he has experience in the sale of duty-free goods.

CAp10 The tenderer confirms that he will be able to to provide the authorities with any information in French during the opening hours of the business.

CAp11 The tenderer confirms that he respecthe tenderer has an access control system which meets the requirements of section 6.2.3 of the tender specifications.

CAp13 The tenderer proves that he has the necessary a computer system that complies with figures 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 of the specifications and meets the requirements of the AFD.

CAp14 The tenderer is authorizedto sell foreign goods (duty-free) and Swiss goods (duty-paid).

The assortment of foreign goods includes imperatively and exclusively the following goods:
