The subject of this tender is the assessment of the sectoral water demand in Malta and Gozo under the LIFE 16 IPE/MT/008. The LIFE IP project (Optimising the implementation of the 2 RBMP in the Malta River Basin District) itself will support the implementation of the 2 RBMP through the establishment of an integrated framework for the optimised management of all water resources in the Maltese islands. The assessment of water demand is a key management tool and a prerequisite for good water resources planning. The objective of this action is to characterise present and future national water demand by the 4 most important water use sectors in the Maltese islands, which are the domestic, agriculture, industrial and tourism sectors. Each sector shall be analysed historically and a demand forecast developed and projected for the next 50 years. This will be accomplished through the development of econometric water demand models, which correlate water demand to expected and prevailing
