BACKGROUND and justification

The objective of the current UNICEF Cooperation Program is to help the Dominican Republic to ensure the effective exercise of the rights of the most vulnerable children, in the framework of the United Nations Development Assistance (UNDAF) 2018-2022, and to contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the goals of the National Development Strategy 2030 and the national responses to the recommendations of the relevant treaty bodies.

Equity, social inclusion, gender equality, and protection against violence are the principles and priorities of the Program. Population will focus on the poorest early childhood because of the effectiveness of these interventions to promote equity and poor adolescents because they are the ones that accumulate the largest number of rights violations.

The program also responds to the UNICEF Gender Action Plan, including an intersectoral program to reduce child marriage, teenage pregnancy and HIV transmission.

In order to continue with the implementation of the biannual work plan 2018-2019 of the protection, health, education and social inclusion sections with the Government, the office requires special support for planning, coordination and execution of large-scale events.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTORY

Assist logistically the activities carried out by UNICEF in coordination with authorities, civil society and the private sector, counterparts of child protection in the areas of protection, social inclusion, education and health.

EXPECTED PRODUCTS

In coordination with the Child Protection Officer, as the case may be, the Consultant will be in charge of managing and carrying out the logistical and administrative activities requested below:

· Draft invitations and follow up on guests, speakers and service providers.

· During the event, logistical support at the place of the event.

· Make a final report.

INDICATORS OF PERFORMANCE:

The performance of the work will be evaluated based on the following indicators:

· Termination of the tasks / activities established in the terms of reference.

· Compliance with the established delivery deadlines.

· Quality of work (accuracy, understanding and demonstration of high standards of work with UNICEF and the partners involved).

· Management Studies, International Relations or related careers.

· 5 years of verifiable experience in the coordination and logistics organization of large-scale international seminars and conferences.

· Ability to coordinate and integrate networks with different actors and allies.

· Proficiency in the Spanish language. English skills.

· Computer skills.

· Knowledge of the mission and vision of UNICEF.
