Tenders are invited for Consultancy: Coordination of Actions for the Protection of Children and Adolescents against Sexual Exploitation in the Province of Puerto Plata and its Municipalities.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE:

Under the supervision of the UNICEF Dominican Republic child protection specialist:

· Provide technical assistance to local governmental and non-governmental UNICEF partners in the Dominican Republic for the prevention and prosecution of the sexual exploitation of mines, children and adolescents.

· Support the placement and distribution of campaign materials No Excuses.

Objective 1:

1.1. Coordination with institutions and organizations for the protection of children to promote the prevention of the sexual exploitation of mines, children and adolescents through the organization of meetings, note-taking, articulation among authorities, follow-up on actions, and others in the municipalities of Sosua. ESTIMATED DURATION OF THE CONTRACT:

The hiring will be between August 6, 2018 and December 23, 2018. (This date may change due to the duration of the hiring process).

V OFFICIAL OFFICIALS INVOLVED:

Transportation, lodging and food costs for official travel within the country will be paid against invoices as stipulated in the travel policy for consultants.

PAYMENT CALENDAR:

The consulting will be paid according to the following schedule:

· 30% to the approval of the first monthly report (September 6).

· 30% to the approval of the third monthly report (November 6)

· 40% to the approval of the fifth monthly report (December 10)

INDICATORS OF PERFORMANCE:

The performance of the work will be evaluated based on the following indicators:

· Termination of the tasks / activities established in the terms of reference.

· Compliance with the established delivery deadlines.

· Quality of work (accuracy, understanding and demonstration of high standards of work with UNICEF and the partners involved).

· Minimum experience of 2 years in the field of rights and protection of boys and girls.

· Experience in fieldwork, representation, advocacy for the fulfillment of the rights of children and adolescents against abuse, exploitation and violence will be an advantage.

· Knowledge, Competence and Skills

· Good coordination and judgment skills for decision making.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with authorities, members of the private sector, communities and civil society.

· Knowledge of the child protection system of the Dominican Republic and the "Convention on the Rights of the Child".
