Tenders are invited for Construction Services of the Malabar Wastewater Project Property Sewer Connection.

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has received a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank toward the cost of Multi-Phase Wastewater Rehabilitation Programme (2890/OC-TT) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract for the Malabar Property Connections - Phase i Bidding will be governed by the Bank's eligibility rules and procedures.

The Water and Sewerage Authority now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Construction Services of the Malabar Wastewater Project Property Sewer Connection. This contract is for Malabar Property Connections - Phase 1The collection system includes a connection to each property which consists of the service connection (the portion of the property connection from the main sewer to a junction box located just within the property boundary) and property connection (the remaining portion that intercepts flow from the property owners existing disposal facility and connects to the junction box at the property boundary). The works of this Contract include:

(i) Procurement, supply, construction, testing and commissioning property connections to approximately 118 properties. The Property Connection is intended to include the installation of the "primary connection" and all "secondary connections" within the residential, commercial, and institutional properties.

The primary connection intercepts the main sewage flow or "black water" that currently flows to the main disposal facility on site It includes installation of pipe up to approximately 1 m to 2 m inside the property boundary and connection to a junction box (to be installed under Collection System contract): installation of interception chambers and clean-outs: and hook-up to existing facilities; Secondary connections are required to connect existing agrey water" discharge points that are presently flowing to gardens, drains, ditches or to the roadside. The work related to the secondary property connections consists of the installation of drainpipe of diameters from 38 mm to 75 mm; clean-outs; venting; traps; and miscellaneous plumbing works to connect the existing grey water discharge piping to the system.

(ii) Connection of the new Sewerline on Harricharan Avenue onto the existing Subero St sewermain

(iii) Securing approval from WASA's New Services Department for the property connections

(iv) Stakeholder management.

(v) Disconnection, pumping and emptying of septic tanks, closing off and sealing off of existing disposal system within each property after commissioning of the private property connection.

(vi) Reinstatement of properties after construction works to equal or better than condition prior to the works.

Dollars (TT$ 4, 000.00) or Six Hundred and Ten US Dollars (US$610.00) has been paid to the Authority's Cashier. Farm Road. St. Joseph.
