Tender Details

The MAPGEN project is leveragingartificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) to scale theanalysis of gender norm portrayals in entertainment media consumed byadolescent girls and young women in India, Kenya, and Nigeria. By employing customizedprompt engineering techniques, the project will enable LLMs to systematicallydetect and classify representations of social norms across diverse mediaformats. This approach facilitates efficient content analysis by extractinginsights from vast media datasets, identifying patterns of gender portrayals, and evaluating audience responses to these narratives. The integration of AItools not only enhances the accuracy and scalability of detecting gender themesbut also supports the development of methodologies that can be shared as publicgoods to lower costs for similar future initiatives. The project outputs, supporting documents, produced datasets, and developed methodologies will serveas public goods for stakeholders to utilize after the project's completion, thereby lowering the cost of running similar exercises. The project team seeks to hire an implementing institution with advanced experience in using computational linguistics and LLM-based applications to support cross-cultural analysis to support core activities under this project.
