Tender Details

Expression of Interest are invited for Climate Smart Agriculture Market Study in Central America

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) of IFC provides Climate Finance investment and advisory services to financial institutions (FIs) to help them set up and/or expand lending to projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green buildings, green cities and climate-smart agriculture (CSA). These projects help corporates, SMEs and households to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, improve access to clean energy solutions, and enhance resilience against climate impacts.

CSA is a growing area for FIG aimed at increasing farm productivity sustainably and achieving food security under a changing climate. FIs and beneficiaries (e.g., farmers and SME agribusinesses) are often unaware of such technologies and their environmental and financial benefits, while CSA providers are not aware of the demand for their climate technologies and services. Moreover, the reporting and estimation of the climate benefits generated by CSA transactions according to the climate eligibility criteria are intensive and complex for FIs.

IFC is looking for a consulting firm to conduct agricultural value chain mapping and market studies of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) technologies and practices to support financial institutions to increase lending for CSA in Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua.
