Section i - description
this request for information (rfi) is in support of market research being conducted by the defense commissary agency (deca) to determine the availability of cake decorating systems in the market.
The government requests that parties interested in responding to potential future solicitations for cake decorating equipment provide product descriptions that correspond with the general operating specifications in attachment 1, commissary equipment description (ced 2b03).
The requirement is to provide a commercially-off-the-shelf (cots) computer system with one unique requirement, the printer must print using edible frosting sheets and edible ink. The required cake decorating systems will include the following components: pc, monitor, keyboard, mouse, multi-purpose printer, and cake printing software (pre-loaded or cd). The system is expected to be shipped to multiple locations conus and oconus and must be shipped ready-to-use (minimal assembly and set up required). In addition, each component of the system must be replaceable and/or compatible with the same or similar cots products and be non-proprietary in nature.

interested parties shall describe the cake decorating systems offered by their organization as it relates to the product described in the attached commissary equipment description.
