This design/build project consists of removing the existing oil-fired furnace and oil tank, designing, furnishing, installing, and putting into good operating condition a ducted cold climate air source heat pump system as the primary heat source for the first floor. Provide ducted or radiant electric resistance backup heat for the building. In addition, contractors may propose the following alternates: 1. Furnishing, installing, and putting into good operating condition an energy recovery ventilator with related ductwork and controls; 2. Adding a zone and backup electric resistance heat for the basement, and; 3. Installing a different, non-fossil fuel backup heat source for the first floor and basement.
