The Bahamas Department of Meteorology requires new equipment to support its work on a large database for climatology data from 1920 to present for the entire islands of the Bahamas. Mapping for the family islands automatic weather stations and radars, and GIS for all locations of the radars and automatic weather stations, for the department to know exactly where equipment need to be placed and the family islands and for aviation purposes. It will allow for the receiving of data when hurricanes are passing through the Bahamas that is necessary for research, aviation and insurance company-s purposes. The purchase will enhance their production and allow for uninterrupted work access as the department is mobile. This will also provide the departments with cutting-edge technology and increase production.
