The primary objective of this study is to provide the World Bank with ananalytical underpinning for the proposed SURE project by comprehensively assessing thetechnical, operational, and regulatory impacts of integrating solar PV systems in theareas of operation of the distribution companies EPBiH and ERS in Bosnia andHerzegovina. The study aims to determine the hosting capacity of the distributionnetworks, identify potential technical and operational challenges, and proposesolutions for the safe, reliable, and efficient integration of distributedsolar generation. Additionally, the study seeks to provide actionablerecommendations for regulatory improvements, network upgrades, and the adoptionof advanced technologies such as battery energy storage and smart metering, thereby supporting the accelerated transition to a sustainable, decentralized, and resilient power system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
