wheatland county is requesting proposals from building contractors to construct a 40' x 60' office addition and a 90'x60'shop addition to the agricultural services building at the wheatland county municipal operations centre near strathmore, alberta. a schematic has been completed that details the expected overall layout of the building addition. the contractor is expected to submit detailed engineered design drawings
qualified firms with requisite experience in the delivery of building construction and design are invited to submit a proposal outlining their experience, deliverables, and work capabilities, knowledge of the area, performance, warranty and overall price in compliance with the specifications of this specific rfp document.
scope of services
the ag services addition construction will be administered as a design-build contract and is expected to include, but is not limited to the following:
• drawing preparation including engineered layouts for electrical, mechanical and structural design.
• site preparation including grading, excavating and foundation work
an approximately 40'x60' two story building office addition, 90'x60' shop addition and existing building renovation consisting of:
• 1 additional drive thru work bay (28'x60')
• 1 additional separated chemical mixing bay (28'x40') with isolated (28'x20') chemical storage area (separate ventilation and floor collection system required)
• 5 - 6.1m x 5.5m overhead doors
• steel construction with metal cladding, fascia and roof.
• 8 additional offices, approx. 120 sq. ft each c/w electrical, phone and internet
• renovation of existing lunchroom to include new bathroom and locker/laundry room and all associated electrical
• reinforced 6" thick concrete floor with floor drain system
• overhead radiant heating system in shop areas
• 20 amp plugs located along walls every 10 feet
• 4 220 volt plugs
• revised heating/ventilation/ac systems for existing and new office areas
• 2 - 10' x 10' overhead doors
• new lunchroom with sink, cabinets and associated plumbing
• supply and install led light standard on east side of asb for 30 stall vehicle parking. include duplex receptacle with steel plug-in posts for twenty vehicles and ten stalls with electrical along south fencing.
in addition the above there is a request for breakout pricing for:
• 1 - 32'x80' wash bay c/w pumping system, elevated catwalk on 2 sides, cistern and piping with discharge to the onsite sewage lagoon to be constructed adjacent to the proposed chemical storage/mixing area.
• removal of 60' wall currently located between maintenance and chemical mixing bay
• 1 32'x 80' external wash bay c/w pumping system, concrete pad and drain with discharge to the onsite sewage lagoon to be constructed adjacent to the proposed chemical storage/mixing area.
the final design and construction should closely match the attached floor plan schematics that have been created.
