Project: Annealing Furnace replacement at Y-12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Introduction: Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, (CNS) is seeking interested parties to contract for the design, engineering, fabrication, and follow on technical support services to deliver a new integrated argon charged annealing furnace and quench tank system. Interested parties are encouraged to reply to the expression of interest if you can provide the services listed below.
CNS will use the information obtained from this Expression of Interest to structure a Request for Proposal (RFP).
This procurement will be under NAICS Code 333994 - Industrial Process Furnace and Oven Manufacturing
Background
The Y-12 National Security Complex is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. It is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) national security complex managed and operated by CNS.
General Scope Description for Annealing Furnace replacement
A new argon charged atmosphere annealing furnace and quenching system will be designed and fabricated. This furnace system shall include a conveyance system that will allow material to be placed on the conveyance system at one end and then moved along through the heating and quenching process for recovery at the other end. Installing all equipment and designing the integration of the furnace quenching system to the facility will be the responsibility of CNS. The annealing furnace system shall maintain a temperature of 1100 C (2012 F) for 70 minutes, transfer 500 pound plates of material to the quench tank within 15 seconds, and heat back up to 1100 C within 5 minutes. The available space to accommodate the new system is approximately 23 feet long by 16 feet by 20 feet high.
