General Procurement Notice for Wind Resource Map & Pilot-Wind Power Development Program.
1. The Government of Uganda (GOU) has received a project preparation grant from the Strategic Climate Fund, through the African Development Bank, (AfDB) to finance the Wind Resource Map and Pilot-Wind Power Development Program.
2. The Wind Resource Map and Pilot Power Development Program is one of the projects under the country’s Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Program (SREP).
3. The project preparation grant will be utilized for:
• Preparation of a detailed wind assessment in the Karamoja subregion (i.e. Northeastern region of the Country) by installing six (6) wind masts;
• Preparation of a detailed technical feasibility study on two (2) selected sites;
• Conducting a detailed Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and preparation of Resettlement Action Plan (RAP);
• Preparation of a wind energy strategic plan and investment guide.
4. Procurement of goods and services will be in accordance with the Bank's "Procurement Policy for Bank Group funded Operations” (October 2015). Bidding is expected to commence by August 2018.
